Lone worker solution
An employee is in danger? Act quickly with the reliable Personal Emergency Signaling System of Serinus
Easy-to-use, reliable and effective
Serinus has developed a lone worker solution, based on the current legal and occupational requirements (Rules 112-139 of the German Social Accident Insurance), which is easy to implement and provides reliable personal security.
It is a software that triggers an alarm in case of an emergency, whereby a defined rescue chain is immediately activated via the central alarm cockpit and first responders are alerted. The rescue chain can be alerted in different ways. Thus, the aid and assistance measures can be initiated immediately and systematically. Besides the manually and automatically activation, an alarm can also be triggered by a lack of response to control calls or on the basis of technical error messages.

DIN VDE V 0825-11 certification
In combination with the smartphones Ascom Myco 3 and ECOM Smart-EX, the Serinus lone worker solution is certified according to DIN VDE V 0825-11. This officially confirms that the solution meets the high requirements for availability and reliability.
You can find all information about the certification in our latest news article.

Overview of the benefits
By selecting the appropriate signaling device, it is ensured that relief measures are activated quickly. Serinus supports many signaling devices, thus offering the solution best suited for every hazard level – from fixed or mobile call systems, scheduled control calls, dead-man circuits to personal emergency signaling systems including location function.
By configuring the settings of the Personal Emergency Signaling System in the app profiles, you can adapt the lone worker solution to your needs. Besides the tilt angle in case of man-down alarm, Serinus allows the configuration of a pre-alarm as well as a detection time. In the settings of the Personal Emergency Signaling System you can also activate the battery status monitoring and the connection to the server.
Serinus supports many locating options in order to quickly determine the position of the injured person in a critical situation. Besides the location through GPS, Serinus also supports pinpointing via NFC, BLE beacon, DECT transmitter and Wi-Fi. Maps showing the current location of lone workers can easily be stored in the dashboard of the personal alarms switchboard.
The central dashboard of the personal alarms switchboard allows you to keep track of every alarm status. You can receive, accept, reject or monitor alarms, and safely initialize relief measures straight away. The switchboard also supports log book entries and the logging of all processes.
Serinus enables a targeted alerting by means of all channels. The required communication channels can be defined individually but also on the basis of either teams or alarms. With the acknowledgment function, you also receive real-time feedback on the availability and response time of your teams. Serinus supports positive, negative and PIN-entry confirmation. Additionally, you can request the input of response or arrival time.
By configuring the automatic escalation of an alarm, you guarantee immediate help to any injured employee. In the absence of feedback from your first responders team, automatic and constant repetitions are initialized after a predefined time. What’s more, it is possible to define an escalation to external control centers.

FAQs
When is lone working being performed?Wann findet Alleinarbeit statt?
Lone work consists in performing an activity in isolation, i.e. out of sight and earshot. Depending on the hazard level of the activity being performed, technical and organizational measures have to be implemented to safeguard lone workers.
Which legal requirements and guidelines are met?
According to §3 of Rule 1 “Principles of prevention” of the German Social Accident Insurance, the employer must identify the risks associated with the lone working position and assess the working conditions. Based on this assessment, suitable measures must be arranged and documented. Depending on the hazard level of the activity being performed, technical and organizational measures have to be implemented to safeguard lone workers. The global assessment is structured in the hazard levels low, moderate and critical.
Which lone worker safety solution is worth considering for your workplace?
Different signaling devices can be used, according to the assessment of the workplace hazard level, which can be either low, moderate or critical. The publication “DGUV Information 212-139” illustrates sample classifications of different activities in relation to their respective hazard levels.
Is there any chance to test the lone worker safety solution?
Yes, Serinus offers you a free trial with access to a demo account to test the smartphone app and our cloud. Request your free demo access here.
